EXPERIENCE

Pavas, the village that everybody should go.
This year on January first, I traveled to San José de Pavas with my mom and my brother. We took a Transcalima bus at the Terminal of transport (Terminal de transportes) in Cali, the ticket cost 6.000 COP. After one hour and fifteen minutes we arrived to the village. The first thing that one notices is the weather, because it is really different to Cali, the temperature is 20 or 22 degrees, so it is very fresh and in my opinion it is better than the weather of Cali. When it is raining, you feel colder, that is good for covering up, taking a hot chololate and continue sleeping.

When we arrived, we waited in the entrance, it is called La Virgen because there is a statue of the virgin, that place is very popular and everybody knows that if they see that statue they are in Pavas. While we were waiting for going to the mom’s cousin’s house, I looked around and I saw many restaurants, pubs, stores surrounding the Main Street. Also, there were event tends where they sell fruits and vegetables every Sunday, it is just one day per week.
About people, I thought they are very attentive, helpful, and polite. They are close to others and they always share with neighbors, so everybody knows about everybody; that is interesting for me, because here in Cali is not possible to do that, maybe it is very common in neighborhoods, but not with the entire city.
Later, when I arrived to house, I thought that it was a welcoming home, because the atmosphere was friendly and warm, I could spend time with my mom, so that was great. We played cards, we walked on the street for seeing the nature, and we visited the aqueduct. Furthermore, I was impressed about the security, I walked with my cellphone in my hand and nothing bad happened.
Another thing that I really enjoyed my experience there, it was the eye-catching landscape, the plants and the animals were the best for me, and I felt serenity and I forgot the stress.
When you are in a city, there are many cars, so the air is polluted. In Pavas, you can feel more tranquility; you can breath clean air, and sleep without noise.

OPINION
I do not like small towns because I have always
lived in the city, although I could not believe that an amazing place was very
close to me. Even if it is a small town for me was a great experience, because that
village is more than I expected. The most impressive thing for me was the scenery,
in Cali there are many houses and buildings, but there I could see and do things
that I cannot do in Cali. For example, I lived together with different animals to
cats and dogs, and I fed a horse with a banana; I went to Pavas’ aqueduct and I
learnt that they have a good laboratory for purifying the water; I walked on
the street at night without worries because it is very secure.
For that reason Pavas was more than a village,
it was a place where I could spend time with my mom and my brother. That place makes
you feel better, because you are not thinking in the work or study, when you
are there you forget your issues and you remember that the simple things make a
difference. Once, I hope to go again for rekindling that experience.
If you want an adventure, you have to go Pavas.
